Educational Qualification (General Stream)

• Graduation: Minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) in any discipline from a recognized university, OR
• Post-Graduation: Minimum 55% aggregate marks (Pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD) in any discipline.
• Professional qualifications like CA, CS, or ICWA are also accepted.

Stream Qualifications (DEPR & DSIM)

• DEPR: Master’s degree in Economics / Finance / Econometrics with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
• DSIM: Master’s degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics / Econometrics / Data Science with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Maximum Attempts Limit

• General Category: Restricted to a maximum of 6 attempts for the Phase 1 exam.

RBI Grade B 2027 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of RBI Grade B consists of 3 phases: objective test, mains exam and interview. The detailed phase-wise exam pattern is:

Phase 1 (Objective Test)

• Total Questions / Marks: 200 Questions / 200 Marks
• Time Duration: 120 minutes (Sectional timing applies)
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong response.

Phase 2 (Mains Exam)

• Paper 1: The ESI paper has a total of 100 marks and is of a duration of 120 minutes having objective and descriptive type questions.
• Paper 2: The English paper has a total of 100 marks and is of a duration of 90 minutes having descriptive type questions.
