What’s New in SSC CPO:
- This year, the new post known as SSC Sub Inspector (Fire) has been introduced for a total of 234 vacancy.
- Also, the negative marking for SSC CPO Paper II Exam has been revised from 0.25 to 0.50 per wrong answer.
- New SSC CPO Paper 1 Pattern: Now, Paper I has 4 sections with sectional timing. Each section has 25 questions for 25 marks. Overall, the paper includes 100 questions for 100 marks, with 15 minutes allotted to each section.
- Where for Paper 2 Pattern comprising of four sections. The first 3 sections have 20 questions for 40 marks each, while English Comprehension has 100 questions for 200 marks. The first three sections have 20 minutes each, and English Comprehension has 1 hour. Click to Know more

SSC CPO Vacancy includes year wise vacancy from 2018 to 2026 distribution of the posts. The highest number of vacancies was recorded in 2025 with 5,308 posts, while SSC CPO 2026 has announced 1,871 vacancies. How to Apply for SSC CPO Recruitment 2026?
Candidates can apply for SSC CPO Recruitment 2026 only through online mode. First, candidates need to complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website and then fill out the CPO application form. The application can also be submitted through the mySSC mobile app.
Step 1: Go to the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in.

Step 2: If you are applying for the first time on the new SSC website, complete your One-Time Registration (OTR). The OTR made on the old SSC website will not work on the new website.

Step 3: After completing OTR, log in with registered information and open SSC CPO 2026 application form.

Step 4: Enter your personal, educational and other required details properly. Select the post/force preferences as asked in the application form.
Step 5: Candidates can use Aadhaar-Based Authentication during the registration/application process.
Step 6: The application system captures a real-time photograph while filling out the form, so candidates do not need to keep a pre-existing photograph for the application.
Step 7: Pay the required application fee through the available online payment methods. Candidates who are exempted from the fee do not need to make the payment.
Step 8: Check your name, date of birth, category, educational details, post preferences and other information, before submitting.

Step 9: Submit completed application form before last date.
Step 10: After successful submission, download or save a copy of the application form and payment confirmation for later.

Candidates need to meet the nationality, age, educational and physical requirements stated in the SSC CPO notification 2026.

A candidate must be
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan.

Driving Licence for Delhi Police SI
Male candidates who apply for SI Executive in Delhi Police must have a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving licence for motorcycle and car by the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT). Candidates who do not have the required driving licence can still be considered for CAPF SI posts, subject to fulfilling the other eligibility conditions.

Candidates applying for SSC CPO 2026 recruitment need to pay the application fee through online payment modes. However, women, SC, ST and eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. The SSC CPO 2026 selection process comprises Paper 1, PST/PET, Paper 2, DME/RME and Document Verification. PST/PET and medical tests are qualifying and Paper 2 marks, along with NCC bonus marks and post preferences, determine final merit and post allocation.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2026
The SSC CPO exam has two computer-based papers along with the physical and medical stages. A new sectional timing system has been introduced in SSC CPO 2026. Candidates get fixed time for each section and cannot use the time of one section for another. Paper I has 15 minutes per section and Paper II has 20 minutes per section. Paper 1 and Paper 2 carry marks and PST/PET and medical examination are qualifying stages.

SSC CPO Sub Inspector Salary and Posts
SSC CPO recruitment includes Sub-Inspector posts in Delhi Police and CAPFs. The posts carry Level-6 pay, with a basic pay scale of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400.

SSC CPO Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates shortlisted after CPO Paper I have to appear for the Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test.
The PST checks requirements such as height and chest measurements, wherever applicable. The exact standards vary according to the post and permitted category-wise relaxations. Certain categories, including candidates belonging to specified hill/tribal areas and Gorkha categories, receive relaxation as stated in the SSC CPO notification.

SSC CPO 2026 Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify SSC CPO Paper II are shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME). A Review Medical Examination (RME) may also be conducted where applicable. The medical examination checks whether the candidate is physically fit to perform the duties of the post. Requirements include prescribed standards relating to eyesight and other physical conditions. Medical examination is qualifying in nature. Candidates need to qualify the medical requirements to remain eligible for final selection.
